We’re pleased to welcome Romi Gutierrez back to the University Press of Florida as Advertising and Direct Mail Manager.
In her former position as publicity manager, Romi was the founding editor of the print version of The Florida Current. She left the press in 2007 to attend New York University, where she earned her MFA in creative writing. While there, she also served as managing editor of the Washington Square Review and taught Intro to Creative Writing.
Since returning to Gainesville in 2009, she’s been teaching at Santa Fe College and occasionally working on special projects for us at the press, ranging from developmental editing to copyediting. Throughout the spring, she’s also been helping part-time with advertising and direct mail while we’ve been understaffed.
All of us are delighted to be working with her full-time again, and look forward to things to come!
