Society for American Archaeology 2015

Last week, director Meredith Morris-Babb and our office manager Cindy Laukert traveled to San Francisco to take part in the Society for American Archeology’s 80th annual meeting!

We were excited to introduce some of our newest titles to everyone at the meeting, including Teresa Moyer’s Ancestors of Worthy Life, Christopher N. There was also great excitement for this year’s winner of the SAA Book Award in the Scholarly category: Steven A. Wernke’s Negotiated Settlements!

Everyone loved Brett Houk’s Ancient Maya Cities of the Eastern Lowlands, snagging all of our copies by the morning of just the second conference day! Brett stopped by the booth just in time for us to snap a picture of him with the last copy of his book before it sold out.

William B. Lees, the co-author with Frederick P. Gaske of another recent title, Recalling Deeds Immortal, also stopped by to see us!

The excitement for our new titles didn’t stop there! Sherene Baugher and Richard F. Veit’s The Archaeology of American Cemeteries and Gravemarkers sold out quickly, as did the new paperback edition of Cultural Heritage Management edited by Phyllis Mauch Messenger and George S. Smith.
