Last week, the University Press of Florida traveled to Savannah, Georgia to attend the Southern Independent Booksellers Alliance 2016 Discovery Show!
We had a wonderful time showing off our newest books to indie booksellers from across the South and participating in the exciting special events lined up for the weekend.
UPF sponsored a Shrimp Cocktail Hour in which attendees got to meet and chat with the authors of three new books: Marty Jourard, author of Music Everywhere, Anna Burgard, author of Shrimp Country, and Cathy Salustri, author of Backroads of Paradise.
Salustri was also one of the featured authors in the “Parapalooza!” event. Authors took turns reading excerpts from their books and also got to mix and mingle with indie booksellers. Jourard was also a panelist for “Memoir and More: Non-fiction at its Best,” which was a part of SIBA’s “Moveable Feast of Authors” special event.
Some of the other books we featured at the show included Charleston by Martha A. Zierden and Elizabeth J. Reitz, The Seminole Wars by John Missall and Mary Lou Missall, Waiting for Contact by Lawrence Squeri, and Experiencing the Art of Pas de Deux by Jennifer Carlynn Kronenberg and Carlos Miguel Guerra.
A huge thank you to everyone who met our authors and stopped by to say hello to us at our booth!
