We traveled to Tampa, Florida last weekend to attend the 2018 Association of Writers and Writing Programs (AWP) Conference and Bookfair, where we featured Subtropics: the Literary Journal of the University of Florida and displayed some of our books.
Since its inception in 2006, Subtropics has sought to publish exceptional poems, stories, novel excerpts, memoirs, criticism, and personal essays by both established and emerging writers. Works originally published in Subtropics have been anthologized in O. Henry Prize Stories, Best American Poetry, Best American Short Stories, and Best American Nonrequired Reading.
It was great to meet some of our authors at AWP! Contributors to In Season: Stories of Discovery, Loss, Home, and Places In Between are pictured below alongside the book’s editor, Jim Ross.
Here are a few more books we brought to AWP:
Son of Real Florida: Stories from My Life

Fringe Florida: Travels among Mud Boggers, Furries, Ufologists, Nudists, and Other Lovers of Unconventional Lifestyles
Lynn Waddell

Backroads of Paradise: A Journey to Rediscover Old Florida
